A Frieze In Time

A frieze on the wall of the roofless ruin that is Hardwick old Hall. The white is a type of coating that protects it against the elements, as is the lead gutter above.

Hardwick Hall - New From Old

A view of Hardwick New Hall in Derbyshire, England, from the roof of the old hall.  The old hall was robbed of stone to build the new.

Huntingtower Castle

Just outside Perth in Scotland. This is actually two castles built side by side for brothers, and was eventually joined together. Note the different size windows.

Not a ruin, just never completed after the owner, Thomas Tresham, was imprisoned for his religious beliefs some 200 years ago.
