Dover Castle
Written on April 1, 2007 – 12:01 am | by Chris |
Dover Castle on the SE corner of England. One of the most important castles in Britain, this one goes back to the Norman invasion of 1066. However, there is a Roman lighthouse on site (The Pharos) which goes back nearly another 1000 years.
Taken 2001.

Fantastic. It still looks pristine.

I’m amazed at the age, obviously we just don’t see that here, being a colonial girl and all
There are First Nation middens (ancient garbage piles, essentially) that they have dated 4000 years ago, but nothing close to that.

I sometimes think we take the history of the UK for granted….
