I wonder if they saw these old ruins when they were new. It's hard for us on this side of the pond to get a grasp on the fact that you people have buildings, many many of which are still in use, that are older than our country. Gives me chills. One of my best girlfriends will be in England for a wedding and then is heading to your neck of the woods to see sights such as this. How I wish I could join her!
