that’s one beautiful cactus. just as well the flowers aren’t scented. the consequences of getting in and sniffing them could be disastrous!

I like your pictures. This one I can’t recognize the type flower, but it reminds me of a ‘crown of thorns.’

We will be in Scotland September 12. Our itinerary is Glasgow, then four nights at a B&B in Crieff. Next will be five nights at the Westin Turnberry.
My ancestor’s bones have called us to The Isle of Man, we will be there Sept 22-24 (two nights). Back to Glasgow for another night, then back to Texas the 25th.

    Happy WW!

That is such a grand photo! Interesting…I posted two photos from a Victorian mansion. The mansion happened to have greenhouses on its premises. My 12 YO son decided to “touch” a cactus…one with those teeny tiny spines. He was in such agony. As soon as we got home, we pried out any we could with tweezers and the rest came out with Elmer’s Glue! Ah, the agony of such beauty!

    Happy WW!

My dad used to grow cactii and suculents (sp?) in greenhouse upon greenhouse. This gives me a sense of deja vu :)

    Thank you :-D
The cacti for those of you interested, is growing in the David Welch Winter Gardens in Aberdeen - It’s a huge complex of greenhouses, with different temperature zones - you can see the cactus house further down the page.

Jams said it was a cactus, so I’ll take his word for it. I knew it was a flower-thing of some sort.

Nice to see you around again. :)
